Ingredients:
2 Cups Mayonnaise
4 Tablespoons of Red Wine Vinegar
1/2 Cup of Sugar
5 Heads of Broccoli (Crowns)
2 Handfuls of Bacon, crumbles
1 Small Red Onion (Diced)
1 Cup of Golden Raisins or Craw raisins or apricot pieces etc…
3/4 Cup of Sunflower Seeds
2 Apples (Chopped)
3 Stacks of Celery
In a medium bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, and raisins. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes to allow the raisins to plump.In a great dish to throw together the broccoli, sunflower seeds, apples, bacon, onion and celery. Add the ingredients above. Chill for at least an hour, serve cold. (Makes 12 servings)
I remember the day when I tried this dish. I was at my sister Bonnie's baby shower and among the many delicious foods to eat, I found a this to be the one that I had to have the recipe. Second choice would be the salsa recipe made her friend, but this has since been surpassed by my daughterBrianna and I will send this recipe later on.
This salad is really good for you because the ingredients. Yes, Mayo is fattening and everything, but we look at the whole picture here. Raisins, cranrasins, sunflower seeds (unsalted) broccoli celery apple onions, bacon lean and sugar with splenda or something similar can be replaced and that care about the sugar takes place.
